Untold Islam

Our Untold Islam section explores the trade in ideas, inventions and innovations across geographic boundaries and demonstrates the role Islam and Muslims have played in all areas of society including science, commerce, mathematics, philosophy, the arts and architecture etc. This online museum will help to break down many of the negative stereotypes of Islam that are presented by many sections of the media.

Terms such as jihad and shari'ah are often misused especially by the media and we offer more thoughtful definitions on a range of theological terms as well as providing further recommended reading. Please note that the term Islamic law in this glossary should not be interpreted as overriding British law.
